An eclipse is an astronomical event that happens<\/em> when one celestial object moves into the shadow of another. Our earth experiences two types of eclipses namely solar eclipse and lunar eclipse.<\/p>\n

Solar eclipse occurs when the moon is in between the planet and also the Sun. There are three types of solar eclipses namely total, annular and partial.<\/p>\n

Total solar eclipses<\/strong> occur when the Moon comes between the Sun and Earth and casts the darkest a part of its shadow, the umbra, on Earth.<\/p>\n

Annular solar eclipses<\/strong> occur when the Moon covers the Sun\u2019s<\/em> <\/em>center, leaving the Sun\u2019s<\/em> visible outer edges to form a \u201cring of fire\u201d or annulus around the Moon. <\/em><\/p>\n

Partial solar eclipses<\/strong> occur when the Moon comes between the Sun and Earth, but the Moon only partially covers the Sun.<\/p>\n

 What time is the Eclipse in India?<\/p>\n

This year we will notice partial eclipse will begin few minutes past 8 (8 am)of local time (IST \u2013 Indian Standard Time = UTC+5:30) and will end at about 11:30 IST (11:30 am). Annular eclipse on the geographical region begins 9:24 IST, on the geographical region a couple of minutes later \u2013 9:31 IST. Annularity ends at 9:27 IST on the West Coast and 9:35 IST on the geographical region<\/p>\n
