The normal Lithium ion batteries degrade when deformed, so the main challenge with designing this battery is to make sure that the battery holds the charge even with deformation.
Pliable Lithium ion battery has a unique outer body design which ensures that the internal structure of the body is sustained even after deformation.
The thickness of this battery is just 0.55 mm, as tested it can withstand a bend of upto 25 degrees and can hold charge between 17.5 mAh to 60mAh.
This product is still in the developing stage and lot of research is going on. But all I can see is, this bendable battery will definitely revolutionise the electronic devices in future.
