MAXIMA, MINIMA THERMOMETER
Here, a standard maximum minimum thermometer is installed. You can note down the maximum and the minimum temperatures of the day with the help of pointer floating above the Mercury. After noting down, we have to bring the two pointers seperated from the mercury to touch the mercury again. For this, magnets are used to guide the pointers.
The science behind it :
One column of mercury lifts the pointer to show the maximum temperature whereas the other column brings down the pointer to show the lowest temperature of the day.
